What's the difference between the velocity knob and the drawn velocity levels in Step S.?

In the Step Sequencer, you can alter the velocity of a note by either adjusting the velocity knob of said note, or drawing the velocity level higher with the vertical bars under each note.

Adjusting one does not seem to correspondingly adjust the other.

Beyond individual vs. all notes in that field being affected, what is the difference between adjusting the velocity knob to it's max of 127 and drawing the velocity levels all the way up?

Thanks!

The velocity knob sets all hits on that note to the same velocity. If you use the vertical bars you can adjust each hit's velocity. So if you want them all the same velocity, it's best (quickest) to use the knob rather than having to drag each bar to the top.
