What's the next 3rd party ProChannel bundle gonna be?
How about some UAD stuff? Instead of a dongle they can throw a Solo card in and we can offload some CPU load to that. Plus UAD knows all about selling stuff to customers that had to qualify themselves as potential sales prospects by buying into a proprietary system. They seem to do a pretty good job with that, Maybe that is because their proprietary system works with just about anybodies system. Anyways, I'm thinking a bunch of people will feel that the UAD stuff is a lot easier to use when it's squeezed into ProChannel. I'm thinking this could be the one; Cakewalk can probably sell the UAD stuff for full price because everyone already knows it's good stuff. best regards, mike

John T Small things amuse minds of corresponding size. What a hoot it is to make the same "joke" day in day out for a year and a half. Somebody please kill me now. We are lucky. I have noticed that we have some relatively cool members that have impressed me with the quality of their posts. I have written threads pointing out solid members that deserve some acknowledgement for how hard they work to answer question and how accurate they have been in their answers. A great guy has come along and he too deserves recognition for his contributions. That guy is McQ He is not alone but has bothered to post in this thread with some solid thoughts. Thoughts we can all learn from. The quote above brought this into focus for me and I thought it was time to let my opinion of him be shared. In my view I don't know what prompted this thread but I see the outcome as extremely positive. It is due totally to Mike who I have many times noted for his contributions here. With you Mike we have nothing to fear about this forum dying from a lack of solid, quality and thoughtful posts. Its not just what was posted here that brought this notion to me. Rather it was many posts from him that is impressive to me. Keep up the good work Mike! (I hereby acknowledge that this post was based on an original idea by John. Thank you John and keep up the good work! Great idea to champion those we feel offer good postings)

I like the Waves stuff too, but I was always afraid of the dongle. It's seeming like a very attractive option now, and the fact that all my buddies already use it every day makes it seem like having my own version would create new efficiencies to our interactions. If Cakewalk goes with Waves ProChannel I hope they make it so that the presets can be shared with everyone else's version. best regards, mike

After getting Softube to make their bundle available in the ProChannel I thought there would have been a faster uptake by other plugin developers. Although I have to admit that with a single level menu it's getting pretty crowded in the PC with all of its own modules as well as the Softube ones. BTW I'm not phased by the iLok for Softube.

"mudgel" Although I have to admit that with a single level menu it's getting pretty crowded in the PC with all of its own modules as well as the Softube ones. Completely agree. It would be nice to be able to customize this menu as we can for VSTs through the "Plugin Manager".

Hey Mike, I just got word from Softube. If you buy their mix bundle you'll get the 'pure' VST's and they'll throw in the PC modules for you to use if you ever wanted them. You can't say fairer than that... HTH

I think you might have been addressing the other Mike, but I had noticed that if I actually read the SoftTube Bundle discontinued thread that this was indeed the case. I also noticed that only two or three people seemed to figure that out by reading the SoftTube Bundle discontinued thread. best regards, mike

I actually think that is a brilliant idea Mike, but I would like to see TC's discontinued Powercore plugs if at all possible. I certainly would not object to CW or Roland to come up with their own DSP card or external device for plugs. I do admit I have a serious DSP card addiction though...

My vote is for a 'Bapu' module. But what would it do? What function would it perform? Bass enhancement? Pitch conversion from any key to Am?

The bapu module could facilitate collaborations and posting to soundcloud. bapu beta 0.323 has been working fairly well so I'd say anything is possible.
