What's with all the posts with the identical link to the takeover announcement?

Forgive me for being a little slow, but what's with all the locked posts from different posters which all have exactly the same content, i.e. a link to the Gibson takeover announcement (with the same text introducing it)? They all seem to be from posters with a decent posting history, so I'm led to assume that admins have deleted their content and replaced it with the link. Am I right? Sorry for bringing this up but it just seems kind of spooky to have edited posts like that (if that's what has happened).

When the mods move something it replaces the comment with a link to where the thread was moved to. Just like what happens when threads get flushed to the CH. If it's redirecting to the actual announcement (and not just the moved thread) well that's a little different.

    Also... hi, sharke.

Ah...hi Beepster....I guess I didn't bother looking closely at the links and didn't notice the "forum" part...I had thought they pointed to a page on Cake's website announcing the acquisition or something. Shows how observant I am
