If you are ruining your mix by using boost 11 then you are using it too aggressively. I know when it first came out that cakewalk touted it as being kind of a fix it all for whimpy mixes. Wishful thinking. However, I used it on a song recently to great effect. But I don't use it as the last thing in my chain, so I can't comment on that. More like just a "pre conditioner" before final eq and brickwall. doesn't work on everything ,but it is still a worthy tool when applied in the right places.

I use a combination of the LQ multiband compressor, somewhere i might throw in G clip, lately iv been ending with BT brickwall, seems to work really well for me compared to the others. thats just me though.

The BT limiter how do you use it really? I have tried it but I guess I like visual evidence over just using my ears. Any advice is appreciated

Have tried/purchased a bunch but finally settled on Fab's Pro-L until demoing IK's new Stealth...instant buy and just love the clean,  ease of use and intersample modulation limiting... max vol/transparency...

It's worth demoing... irresistible!

thks for the kind word for the video ...have you tried Ozone or BX XL v2 (witch is on sale) ?

Last time i remebered having tried the bx , it wasn't so clean ....as soon as you wanna use the goodies , but to tell the truth it was a real quik test ....Ozone , well last time i tried it also i really didn't liked the sound while the concept was a killer for me .. i also confess it was an early one (like the ozone 3 or 4 ) lol ...this might have evoluted and me as well !!!

The end words are : we have a lot of exellent options around , if i had to make my students by the safest (sure that they won't mess their mixes ) : IK

The best bang for the buk (when at 99) : FGX  but i really need to try ozone

Boost 11 was first released as a plugin included in something like Music Creator or one of Cakewalk's other lesser programs.
When the Sonar crowd heard about it they ranted and raved until Cake included it with everything. From that sort of history I don't think it was ever intended as a top class limiter.

Ozone 6 can do subtle volume increase and 'crush to death' with equal levels of awesome--more importantly it is very easy to use.

It's pretty much all I have used since purchasing Xenon a year ago.

I've heard Stealth is really nice, but I have not tried it. Let me know what you think.
