When Charity Smiles

Here is a new one of mine. I personified a thing (Charity) with a name to describe it, so the song is about "her". FWIW, I didn't forget about that other song and I appreciate all of your comments. I'm just taking awhile to get it completely mixed....so thank you to all who commented on it.

When Charity Smiles
When Charity smiles, rain and wind all go away, when Charity smiles it's gonna be a brand new day.
When Charity smiles she drives the shadows all away, when Charity smiles, I know we'll make it all the way.
She lets her light shine, she lets her light shine,
She does not envy, does not boast, seeks the good in me the most,
Keeps no journal of wrongs I've done, seeks the good for everyone
Charity smile, Charity smile
Charity smiles,Charity smiles,Charity smiles,Charity smiles,Charity smiles,Charity smiles it makes everything alright- Charity smiles
When Charity smiles I feel her kindness all around, when Charity smiles, it touches all who look her way,
She lets her light shine, she lets her light shine, she lets her light shine in- repeat

Nice song. I like the vocalist - clear, clean and not really pitchy... is that you?

Mix-wise, I'd bring up the drums a tad, and also the bass. The whole mix lacks in the bottom end.

Are these live drums? The intro is a little busy. And the timing floats around a little. But overall you've got some good basics to start with. Good work!

Tim, this is a fun song to listen to.  The lyrics and arrangement are clever, and overall, the song is a joy to hear.  I like your vocal in this!  Your songwriting has managed to stay fresh, though you have a certain style that I call "Starise" which is undeniably you.  Well done!

    All the best,

I posted on this last night, but looks like the forum gremlins ate it. Anyway, I wanted to say that this is probably one of my favorites that I've heard from you Tim. Love the melody and vocals and the whole thing comes together really well. I think the bass and kick could use a boost, and the drums could stand a little more definition, but all in all, I really like this one. Reminds me of an old band called Starcastle, which I'm sure you've never heard of, but you would like them I'll wager.

I like the song as well. I'm sticking with my Foreigner meets Firefall comment. Great stuff!

I think the mix has to much mid in it.

Notation, the original DAW. Everything else is just rote. We are who we are and no more than another. Humans, you people are crazy.

Another good song!   Catchy, and nice harmonies once again.  Some of them are just a little off-time so perhaps a little slide here and there?

As Guitarpima mentioned the mids/high-mids do seem to have a lot going on, particularly when the guitars come in.  So it's a little bright I think, but not really harsh.  Then again, given the context bright could be the right thing.
