When You Sleep

This is another one similar in feel to the last one. I have been tweaking on it some lately and would deeply appreciate some feed
back.   Thanks!

Great mix and arrangement.  This sounds so clean and warm to me.  You have a great ear for mixing.  You have space and perspective down my friend.  I can just let the song take me...

Who's singing? That's an interesting voice. The lead vocal. I liked the performance, I still feel like this is blue grass dressed up as folk? I like it though.

And I can go in to "great detail" about what it was that she did... "Exquisite detail? And it was unforgivable... I defy anyone to produce a better example of how one person craps on another they say they used to love." Thank God for song writing/music or I'd be on the news...

@theband19 LOL! It is me singing falsetto , the one and only time I have ever let anyone hear it. I don't know how you would categorize it ,I just put down how I feel them. Thanks for the feedback and for listening!

It was really good actually? And I consider myself qualified to judge... At first I was like, "that chick is pretty talented" and then I listened again and realized it may have been you (pre-op of course) I've been known to strap mine in to a vice and hit the high notes as well so I'm just having fun :-) It was good though, really nicely done.

I think you have a real knack for production, everything felt just right.
I too liked the vocals, I always find it interesting when a singer starts a song and my attention is immediately drawn to them.
There were a couple of drum hits that I thought were panned a little too much but that was my only crit.

Thanks rebel007 for taking time to listen, and the kind words. I went back and listened to the drum hits and I agree that they are panned a little too hard. Thanks for the advice..

Wow, what a great song. I really enjoy the pacing.

I found myself wishing the "flute" was a "clarinet" playing the same line a couple octaves lower.

Thanks Mike. The part that sounds like a flute is actually the synthetic clarinet patch in Cakewalk Sound Center, I thought it sounded more flutey than the actual flute patch I was using. I may try the clarinet 2 octaves below as you were suggesting to see how it sounds. Thanks! I seem to remember that you are in Tally ,if so I am about 90 miles from ya!

    Teego,

Nice one.   Well balanced and mixed well..  You falsetto vocal reminds me of Nick Gilder for some reason.   It sounds good all around.

It's funny, at first I didn't think I liked the singer but just a bit after I thought that I realized I was liking her vocal a lot.  I guess my ears had to warm up because 2 minutes in I'm lovin' it.   Your mixes are full and clear.  It's really good work.

Good mix, I think it suits the song nicely - laid back and open.

And the lyrics are great!  I think your falsetto works very well with them.

How did I miss your posts before now?

I haven't listened in about three weeks and in that time you've posted all these great songs.  There's quite a bit of rock and new age posted here, but as I said, I'm more Americana and I'm enjoying all your songs.  This is no exception.
