I always read every preceding post before replying. If I didn't, how would I know which ones I disagree with?

And anyway, if the thread is too long to bother reading in its entirety, it means the thread has either a) been adequately answered already, or b) morphed into yet another discussion of ARC.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Sometimes A, sometimes B. Sometimes I post an answer and then read backwards through the thread. I rarely RTFM anyone. Generally, if I don't know I'll read all the responses.

Compassion is born of such feelings Reece. You are not wrong to feel the way you feel. But the question is, when we feel this way, what will we do to ensure others do not feel similar because of our own actions? This is the only thing within our control. Sadly too few of us think about these things.

Like here???

http://forum.cakewalk.com/tm.aspx?m=2556960

I just read your post on that thread and it made me chuckle as I was thinking of this one when I replied to you.  I just came here to cross refer to point out that wasn't actually being rude and that I genuinely thought it was funny in light of this thread, and lo I read the quote above, which made it even funnier.

Truly when I first saw what the topic was here it was your name that first sprang to mind for me, I have often observed that you seem to enjoy the sound of your own opinion more than what's been said prior to your arrival, when of course if I've already posted on a thread then that's the real dope, right there.

But I don't hold much store by that as I'm aware that it's easy to pick up wrong impressions from the forum and like I said as long as the person asking gets the info they are after I don't care where it comes from. (you'd probably have to read a few posts to get that though...)

I'm not trying to be being down on you here or being personal, just pointing out why forum interaction for me can be so hilarious at times basically because it is so easy to get the wrong end of the stick, and it probably gives some insight into why I sometimes affectionately refer to you as 'Bitflippant'  (Although it's quite likely that you wouldn't have noticed that either.... )

Bit I love you man, and am truly meaning this post in an affectionate light-hearted way and personally I wouldn't have you any other way....but reading the quote did make me LOL

I truly love this place, I feel like it's where I kinda belong somehow...  Did anyone notice that?

btw Bit, I'm glad I bumped into you here as I've been seeing a few threads get sidetracked into a debate about ARC.

I was interested in your thoughts about.

A/ ARC itself

and

B/ What your thoughts are about so many threads being sidetracked into the subject.

I appreciate any views you in particular have on either subject....

Someday Reece, you and I will learn to communicate . I will keep trying.

I did not think you had chastised anybody. I was trying to point out that the only thing we can do is guard our own actions by trying to ensure every voice is answered. That when we feel annoyed by something we can either learn from it and try to ensure that what we subsequently do does not affect others in a similar way (as I suspect you try very hard to do), or we can just let it eat at us one little bite at a time until we become bitter and angry (which you do not do, I hope).

But for sure, I need to take a look at how I write things. Somehow what I intend to communicate is often lost and something altogether different is taken from what I say. For the life of me I cannot understand why, but it must be me.

Cheers
Shad
