When visiting The Coffee House does anyone else get this message ?
This message happens to me a lot . Usually after an extra long load time for The Coffee House ... Alright , who did I piss off ...and who decided to change The Coffee House's secret handshake ? Kenny

All the time, for the last week or so Kenny. Usually takes 2 or 3 attempts to load it. Most other sections of the CW forum seem to be the same lately.

I just mentioned this to another forumite. The Cake forums in general have been acting very erratically lately. I click one link and it refuses to load (or I'll get that message) but another link will load fine. Wait 2-3 minutes and everything's fine or some other link will refuse to load. This has been going on for a few weeks for me now. Very annoying.

I see that about once a week. And since I'm nearly always here, some would blame me.

I'm seeing it randomly in different forums. I think it's a slow response proportional to the number of Bapu FREDs in the sub forum.

At the moment there are two threads in the coffee house, at least that's all the forum software is willing to show me. And it's taking an age to load even that.
Sonar Platinum 64bit, Windows 8.1 Pro 64bit, I7 3770K Ivybridge, 16GB Ram, Gigabyte Z77-D3H m/board, ATI 7750 graphics+ 1GB RAM, 2xIntel 520 series 220GB SSDs, 1 TB Samsung F3 + 1 TB WD HDDs, Seasonic fanless 460W psu, RME Fireface UFX, Focusrite Octopre. Assorted real synths, guitars, mandolins, diatonic accordions, percussion, fx and other stuff.

Ah!
I just noticed the pull-downs at the bottom of the screen hadn't loaded despite three page refreshes.
On the fourth reload attempt they have and things are back to what passes for normal.

I have been seeing this problem frequently in the past week, but only on access to the Coffee House. In addition loading times when I do connect are tediously long. I assumed it was Bapu's fault.

I wonder if we're getting DDOS'd... or maybe with the influx of newcomers over the past year or so the servers are getting overloaded with extra lurker traffic. Either way... mayhaps time the Bakers/Admins see what's up and if necessary rent some extra server space (because I don't think this is being hosted at Cake headquarters). Meh.

yes this has been happening for a while now, it first started with the coffee house where it would take forever to load and then that message, then occasionally on other sub forums, but mainly the coffee house.

WOW I guess I'm not alone with this issue This has been happening to me for about a month consistently just about every day multiple times ... I had no idea this was happening to everybody here ... At least we now have it out in the open ... I'm curious , another odd thing has been going on , I have had it happen when after I post a post ( in any section ) of the forum where I get bumped off the forum and my wifi gets shut down temporarily ... That one has been happening on and off for about the past week ... Has that happened to anyone else here ? Kenny

Many years ago, I worked in an office where blame was very important. Most meetings were consumed with assigning blame or arguing about assigning it. All of our problems were solved one day by a developer in IT (Data Processing at the time). He volunteered to take the blame. That's right. Whatever the situation might be and whoever might actually be at fault, Tom would take the blame. He was careful to point out that he would not accept any responsibility for the problem nor would he be responsible for the solution, but he would willingly and happily accept the blame. From that time forward, whenever a problem was encountered (approximately every 30 seconds), Tom would accept the blame and life would go on. Wherever he is now and whatever he's doing today, we can all rest easy when the forum software eats its own head. We can blame Tom. Don't you feel better?

Weird. I've been having weird wifi dropouts for a looong time now and just thought the network card on my laptop was dying. Never thought it could be from this forum. It just drops out and I have to use the "Function" keybinding to turn it off and back on again. Then everything is fine. It's annoying as hell.

I've been getting it a ton this week as well. I chalked it up to the general dearth in internet activity since Tuesday. It's either that or the Russians.

“Beer is proof God loves us and wants us to be happy” is attributed to Benjamin Franklin perhaps in error, but the thought remains a worthy sentiment nonetheless.

This error typically means fetching the data from the database is taking too long and the attempt times out. THAT could mean that the webserver is too busy (being used for other things or being backed up). If they're using a shared webhost (where Cakewalk.com is just one of many domains being handled by a web server), then it might not even be something the Bakers are doing that's causing the issue. If it continues though, all they should have to do is call up their web host and complain and they will redistribute the loads a bit.
Time for all of you to head over to Beyond My DAW!
