Where Are....?
I'm in the midst of trying out the Bouncing section of the tutorial. Where on earth are the "Format fields, Source Bus(es) field, & Mix Enables field"??

Where are you getting this information and what does it have to do with bouncing?

After you select the tracks that you want to bounce, select EDIT>BOUNCE TO TRACKS. A new box will pop up with all of those fields. Point and shoot.

Robo - the information that MC requests is basically do you want as stereo or mono final bounced track (format field), from what do you want MC to record (your sound card output, generally), and do you want MC to keep the effects, envelopes, and bus routing (Mix enables field). I don't bounce much - I don't see any real reason to with virtually unlimited tracks. I suppose if you're really workin' your system, you could bounce the tracks, but why not just burn duplicate tracks where the fx are printed (so there is no processing requirement) and then archive the original track? Works for me!

ORIGINAL: Robomusic Where are you getting this information and what does it have to do with bouncing? Where are you getting this information and what does it have to do with bouncing? Where? Tutorial5. I've haven't got a clue what's its got to do w/ it...yet. Just learning how to "bounce" as we speak.... bargainboy- Thanks! Did it. Am I only meant to select either one of the 2 tracks? (cause it doesn't look like it allows to select both at once)

I agree Jeff, i do not bounce individual tracks much, just for final mix down or to make a reference CD wave file. I usually run the tracks as midi, so i can continue to tweak them. The bounce does do a nice freeze if needed. Rickerdude, I get ya now, just choose the options that you want for the song you are working on, all the bounce does is a mixdown of the chosen files, so you can always do it again if it is not right.

yeah- I just wish the manual included pics of some of the areas mentioned. It's unclear in many places. But I'm getting through it slowly, but surely....

ORIGINAL: Rickenbacker bargainboy- Thanks! Did it. Am I only meant to select either one of the 2 tracks? (cause it doesn't look like it allows to select both at once) Solo the tracks you want to bounce - that's how you select them. In your case, solol both tracks and they will be combined on the bounced track. For instance, if you had a project with 15 tracks and you wanted to bounce tracks 4, 9, and 10 to a 16th track, you would solo 4, 9, and 11 and EDIT>Bounce Tracks, then select new track (16) for the destination track. Then you could archive (or delete - but I don't recommend deleting) 4, 9, and 11.
