Where are my .wav files?????

Hi,
I have 2 drives.  One for s/w and one for audio projects. I have per project folders set up in preferences and in new project window.
In Sonar, when i open the path to a project I see, an "AUDIO" folder and the project named folder.  However there are no .wav files in the Audio folder.
When i go through windows explorer and I open the named project. It too has the Audio folder, however it DOES have the .wav files.
Why dont the audio folders contain any .wav files when i open projects from within Sonar?

Thanks

John

Check the file paths in preferences.

If not in there...
Search your hard drive in windows explorer for '*.wav'.
When it's done your can sort them by file size or date order.

Oh you edited the comment.
Where in Sonar are you browsing audio files?

If the project is open the wav files are in use so I suspect Sonar doesn't want you anywhere near them.

If you are browsing via file-open check to see if you are browsing the right extension.

I did edit.  Right after I posted i thought to check by going through windows explorer and the .wav files were indeed there within the appropriate audio folders.  I understand what you are saying about possibly not being able to see them when using them, however before i even open a project i cant see them in any audio folder, so they are really not in use. I'm just wondering if thats normal to see empty audio folders when opening a project from within Sonar.

Thanks again

You should only be able to see project files with file-open unless you change the file type at the bottom of the window.

I'm not sure about the media browser.

There is also an import facility.

Cheers..

If you're opening the path to a project via File > Open, WAV files are not a project so they are irrelevant to SONAR looking for projects. The "Files of Type" drop-down menu allows you to filter so you can see only certain types of files, e.g., you might want to see only OMF files or template files. If you look at that list, you'll see that WAV files are not an option because they are not a format that SONAR imports as a project. The import function is for bringing specific audio files into a project.
