Where are the channel friendly names file kept?

Ugg, organizing hardrives, renaming directories, moving stuff around, opened up sonar and all the input/outputs can't be found ( I assumed as named in my files) but it shows all the default names from the drivers versus my "friendly names" I created. So where might those be stored, what file name might I find them under so I can put humpty dumpty back together versus re re naming 24 channels of IO?

Thx folks

Strange because I didn't touch that drive location. I have a separate drive where I simply store project files, associated wav files and templates. My c:users\myusername directory does not show an Appdata under my user name.

Re: Where are the channel friendly names file kept? 2014/07/17 08:11:27 (permalink)
Ok so I found the aud file. It shows the friendly names as originally stored. Not sure this is the issue. So I have that aud file on the C: drive and a separate D: drive for project files, templates, associated wav files. I merely changed the D: directory name and moved some files around on the D: drive. Didn't touch the C: drive (where the aud file friendly names are stored).

SO now when I open sonar it says "The following audio output devices are not available (shows the friendly names), you may assign them to any other available device (shows the default driver names). I assume it reads the friendly names stored in the project file and is attempting to match those somewhere but got lost, so it suggests the default driver names. What could I have done to make this happen? - project files friendly names can't find the aud file friendly names?

Also, OPen up sonar, canceling the suggested reassignment, Preferences no longer shows the friendly names, even though the AUD file shows the friendly names

For what is worth, I rebuilt the friendly names in the preferences settings. I noticed an odd thing. So I have two I/O cards - a Lynx AES16 and a LynxTwo. In the preferences window the original order showed the AES16 driver channels first (top of the list) then the LynxTwo drivers second. After the issue occurred, the preferences window now shows the LynxTwo  driver channels first then the AES16 drivers second.

Wonderful... Rebooted the computer and the driver order flipped back to the original preference order- AES16 driver channels first (top of the list) then the LynxTwo drivers second
