Where is MIDI Channel for VSTi

How do you set the MIDI channel for a combo VSTi track? My bass and piano seem to be on the same MIDI channel. When I move the volume slider one one, it affects the other. Also, I hid the icons on my tracks. Where did they go? Things sure have changed in X1.

Use the channel drop down to change MIDI channels. By icons do you mean the various widgets in the track header? If so use the "Track Control Manager" drop down at the top of the track header. It probably says custom as for some bizarre reason that's the default.

Once you've changed it you can set it as default by saving it over your preferred template.

Found it. You have to click on the MIDI tab at the bottom of the screen. I didn't see that before.
