Where is Sonitus:fx in SONAR X2?

History,

Last summer I purchased Sonar X1 and installed it in my home office computer and later installed the free upgrade to X2. I didn't remove X1. This year I converted one of our rooms into a personal music room (my wife calls it my "Play Pen").

When I loaded the Sonar X2 upgrade into my new computer everything went well except I can't find Sonitus:fx effects or Cakewalk Analyzer anywhere. Does the downloaded X2 upgrade require that I delete Sonar X2, install X1, then X2 and remove X1 order to get Sonitus:fx or just load X1 to get the effects?

I've done some searches on the forum and on the WEB and couldn't find any answers.

Would appreciate any help.

Walt

All SONAR upgrades are full versions of their products and do not require previous products be installed on the machine. Upgrade refers to the price paid for the new product. It may be that the install failed to install the DX effects. You can re-run the installation process, choose advanced installation and select the Sonitus fx and Analyzer. Make sure to run the installer as administrator. Alternately, you can uninstall everything, clean up the registry and reinstall everything. Again make sure to run the installer as administrator

scook,
Thanks for the clarification that the upgrade is a full version. It was my bad. Normally I always chose "advanced installation", but I might have missed it and left it basic when I installed the software. (Never ever install software at the end of the day with a glass of red wine...)

I re-installed X2 and everything is all better!

Only 5 more software applications to load...

Thanks again,

Walt

Generally, the best thing to do when first installing SONAR is perform a basic install. The basic install normally installs everything that runs on the selected platform. In the case of SONAR X2 Studio/Producer 64bit that would include the Sonitus fx and Cakewalk Analyzer. Some have reported installer failures while attempting to register the DX files (which includes the plug-ins discussed here). Use the advanced install when reinstalling plug-ins that failed to install correctly, adding plug-ins not part of the basic install (an unusual situation) or adding plug-ins no longer included in SONAR from an older version.

Anyway, glad it looks like you have a solution.
