Where is folder with drum maps?

I'm fixing/modifying Edit > Preferences > Folder Locations and would like to move the drum maps to a good spot. (By the way, the reason I'm fixing the Folder Locations is that, for the most part, they show odd paths like C:Users\User\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk)

After install of SONAR X2 on a new Win7 computer, a search for ".map" on C: drive shows hundreds of hits like "C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\SONAR X2 Producer\Drum Maps\Alesis D4 Industrial Set.map". This is good.

QUESTION: The problem is ProgramData does not appear as a folder on C: drive. Is this some kind of Windows trick?

    What's the question?

The thread title refers to drum maps but then you talk about "Program Data"

    What Program Data?

    My drum maps are here:

    C:\Users\Colin\AppData\Roaming\Cakewalk\SONAR X2 Producer\Drum Maps

There is a master copy of the information stored in your home directory. That copy is in a hidden directory in c:\ProgramData.

Take another look at the string found by the search engine:
    "C:\ProgramData\Cakewalk\SONAR X2 Producer\Drum Maps\Alesis D4 Industrial Set.map".

ProgramData is the 4th thru 14th characters in the string. No space.

I expect ProgramData to be a folder just like Cakewalk is a folder. But C: drive does not display a folder named "ProgramData".

In a similar way, the string proposed by you "C:\Users\Colin\AppData\..." likewise shows a folder AppData which does not display on my computer. Yes, I understand that where you have Colin I would have User.

It's worth noting that in the C:\Users\User\... folder, other typical folders are Desktop, Downloads, Favorites, Links, My Documents, My Music. My Pictures, etc. But no AppData.

QUESTION: So, the question remains: what/where is the ProgramData folder?

I answered that question. Leave the master copy where it is, in the hidden directory. No hidden AppData in your home account? What OS are you running?

Let's say that scook is right and there is a master copy of the information. How would I get at it?

The bottom line problem here is that I really do want to move the drum maps to another folder -- I just can't seem to have them show up in a window where they can be copied.

Then you have an hidden AppData directory in your home directory, that contains a copy of the master data. That is no advantage to moving that stuff around and some of it cannot be moved or SONAR will either recreate it or fail to run.

I don't want to move the master copy.
I don't want to change or alter the master copy directly in any way.
In fact, I would like to wish it well and pretend that it doesn't exist.

GREAT NEWS, PROBLEM SOLVED: In the Search Results, I selected all of the items, Copied, and Pasted into the target location. (Never tried that with Search before.)

    Thanks for everyone's help.

You can get to the ProgramData folder in Windows Explorer - click on "Local Disc (C:)" then in the address bar type "ProgramData"
