Where is the "Master" volume control (for all of the elements) located?

Or does it even exist?

Sorry to ask such a basic question but it's a mystery to me thus far.

I'm not talking about the individual volume control for each of the elements.

Many programs were programmed 20-30 db too low.

Thank you.

Does it say where all of your instruments outputs lead to on each track?

I specifically asked this question about Dimension Pro which is pretty new to me.

Would you please rephrase the question and point out where I should be looking?

I also bought Rapture but its not transparent how one raises the master volume sliders.

    Thanks.

Hi brudel - And Welcome to the forum.

As you said, there seems to be no way to raise the overall volume of a Dimension program without changing the volume of each element. And fiddling with the amplitude envelope is no solution (assuming there is one).

Regarding Rapture, it does have a rotary master volume control at the bottom right. So I don't understand what you mean about the "master volume sliders".

    Hey Brudel,

    Welcome to the forum!

OK, Each element in Dim Pro, as you already know has its own volume control but they don't have a volume control collectively on the synth.

I'm not sure what host your running this in but this is how I set it up.

1 Audio Track - Dim Pro enabled in the effects bin
2 Midi Track - Input Midi Device - Output Dim Pro

Setting it up like this enables me to control the volume of all four of the elements from the tracks that I inserted them in. Either from the midi track or audio track volume sliders (not sure which off the top of my head)

Hope this helps. If not could you give us a little bit more info on how your setting it up pls?

There are a few ways around the lack of a master volume knob in Dimension Pro.

Send the MIDI message CC7 (channel volume) from your host app or a keyboard controller.
It acts as a 'hardwired' master control over the four Elements (per-channel, in multitimbral mode).

    - OR -

Right-click on all 4 Volume knobs, select MIDI Learn, and send any MIDI CC message, pitchbend or aftertouch.
The individual controls will 'synchronize' together under one MIDI message.

    - OR -

Open the MIDI Matrix (third icon from the left in the group of 4), and enter in the following 'slot':
Source: CC127  Destination:  Volume All  Depth:  6.0  Smooth: 0.0
That will raise the volume of all four Elements by 6 dB.  Change the Source and the Depth values to taste.

I like to use the Amp Keytrack controls as mixdown 'sliders' (per Element).  Click in the Keytrack display.
Use Page Up / Page Down (or the QWERTY Up/Down arrow keys) to raise or lower the overall level.
Then you still have full range on the Mix section Volume controls, but your levels are optimized in Keytrack.

Many programs were programmed 20-30 db too low.
That's a lot.  I'm going to suggest that you start out with some lower numbers, instead of plugging 20-30 dB into any of the methods above.
