Where to open zip files

Hi, I bought and downloaded MC6 w/ studio instruments and I am working through the tutorial/book. Everything is working fine, but....what file am I supposed to save the instrument zip files to? I didn't see anything in the book, or on the FAQs (I am asking as I have unzipped files (on different programs) and found on a couple that if they are not unzipped to the correct location....then it can't "find " them and I have to redo it) Thanks

I normally will create a new desktop folder. I deposit the zipped files in it and then go in and UN-zip the files in that folder. They should then unzip into that folder. I have also seen them create their own NEW folder and the unzipped files are in it.

Once that is done..... simply start the install process and again, you should be given the option of accepting the default locations or a custom install where you decide where things go to install.

If you got a downloaded version of MC6.... simply take the un-zipped folder and burn it to a disk for future safekeeping.

The best way to open zip files is B1 Free Archiver  http://b1.org/windows/
It's available for different os's, so try it.

Everything appears to be unzipped and in the Browser. Thanks for the archiver link. I wish I had gotten this years ago. Doug
