I just hired Taylor, one of my students. We start Wednesday and I'm SO excited! :-) (I think...) But I'd go for the gal cause it would just be weird to have a guy for a teacher (for me anyway).

Mooch Go for Vox coach 2. You'd make a great soprano.

You ever watch American Idol? You ever notice that all the ones who go in and sound horrible and stand there and argue with the judges that they are the greatest and just had a bad day blah blah blah, all said they had vocal coaches? I seem to remember a few of them bringing their VC's with them iirc. I look at vocal coaches like I look at trying to master a bad recording. See what I mean?

Weeelll... #2 is pretty cute. But, I think you're looking for professional qualifications, right? What are your goals? Which instructor has the combination of skills, education, and experience that will get you where you want to be? #1 is a little short on academics, but seems to have a respectable resume and some street cred in the field; #2 looks to have more technical training, not bad experience, but perhaps not so much in the pro realm as the other instructor. Another thing you might want to check on is - has either instructor "produced" a performer of note? Lots of variables - consider the factors and make your choice. Cheers, Russ

Well she is hot, but it says she teaches "opera voice" and "Theatrical Broadway singing" Are you sure you want to go into all that now? If you just want to impress her just bring your guitar and let her teach you something tricky and compliment her on what a great teacher she is. Don't ever let her hear you sing or the only way you'll ever see her again is if you stalk her. ...just sayin'

But Grant, what if Mooch is the next Domingo, or Bocelli (or his mentor, Pavarotti)? And just think of what the CHB might be like if we had videos of Mooch singing, "Memories" or something from Phantom of the Opera? No, wait a minute... scratch the second part. But, given the CHB's dramatic bent, it might not hurt to have a Meatloafian vocalist handy. Just sayin'...

Yes, I guess anything is possible, but I have heard him sing I'm afraid, he can pull off a pretty decent R&R song, but trust me...he's no Pavarotti. No I worry he might start hanging out with that "Cats" crowd
