Hey
Guitarpima! thanks for checking it out. Yeah, believe it or not, we spent a lot of time working on the diction when recording the vocals. But we realize not everyone can be Jamey Jasta
But I think it's a little like opera. I love listening to it but I can't decifer what they are saying. Opera fanatics I know can understand the lyrics as long as it's in a language they know. So I dunno, we're not making the vocals hard to understand. That kind of vocals are difficult to understand by nature I suppose, for those who aren't used to listening to it. We've actually had comments from quite a few people of various nationalities saying they are amazed of how well we pronounce the words. So, all in the ears of the beholder I suppose
But thanks for all your comments about this, we will continue to be as articulated as possible and work on geting better at it.
Not to turn this into a massive TOS violation but you're actually onto what the song is all about, and through the noise of wealth and general dumbing down of the areas where the cash is, the people crying desperately for their lives out there in the big world is perceived as whispers and therefore ignored and/or not neccesary to pay attention to. We do have a Norwegian-ish perspective for our ideas but I know there are other countries and societies where this is also a very valid concern. We try to make it as broad as possible without calling EVERYONE a douchebag
On thing I need to mention, these songs are 10 years old and to be honest, our English wasn't always that good, nor was correct English our priority back then. We just wanted it to sound cool. So the use of "People" was just an easy way out and all the lyrics we wrote back then are full of simple sentences. But we kind of liked it back then, it gave us a punk-ish attitude to the lyrics. But in this particular song, one of the important topics in the lyrics is that it doesn't matter where you're from, what you do and how you live. If we're opnened up we all look the same and if you love yourself so much, then how can "you" not be the slightest concerned about the imbalance of the resources around the globe, causing all this missery for other people, who look just like "you" when it comes down to it. After all, we're all the same, just humans, just another "person" in this global society
Maybe far fetched but wth, we're happy with it. We decided not to change any of the original lyrics unless it was a total disaster, when recording these new versions, but there were times in the vocal booth we winced at what we were saying. Since these songs were written, we've lived in other countries and learned a lot, both lingual and about life and the world. Our lyrics are much better these days
Digi2ns thanks for your kind comment! You saying that means a lot to me.
Janet - thanks for checking it out. LOL yeah, it was a lot of work. But we think it was worth it
