Haha! You guys are cracking me up! I've seen a bunch of positive posts about FabFilter over at KVR, but I've been trying to cut back on my spending on music related gear/software/sample libraries. Can you someone get me up to speed on FabFilter? What separates it from others? What do they do best? Does Fab relate to the Beatles or Abbey Road? I'm always interested in learning and finding out about great gear -- even if I'm fighting buying it for the rest of the year.

They are simply one of the best makers of plugs out there. And while I already own almost all of their stuff I would love for them to do a group buy just to expose more folks to their amazing quality. I'm in!!

I'm not looking for plug-ins too much more these days, but their EQ is definitely one of the few I am planning to buy.

FabFilter uses a different model for discounts, whereby they lower the price of each successive plugin you buy, encouraging repeat business. They also offer bounties to customers who refer new customers to them. I don't know of anyone else who does this. They have, however, offered sale prices in the past, but only for bundles, not for individual plugins. Even discounted they're too pricey for me. 800 bucks will get you the whole shebang. That's my budget for an entire year! Don't expect to ever see a FabFilter product featured as an audiomidi no-brainer for $20.
All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to. My Stuff

They also offer bounties to customers who refer new customers to them. I don't know of anyone else who does this. Redwirez, makers of one of the finest impulse loader on the market and seller of top-notch cabinet impulses. :) Okay, they only make one plug-in, but they do that for their impulses. I don't think they have a referral program though - but considering that each impulse pack is max. $7 or $8 IIRC, that's not an issue. I know FabFilter make quite a few terrific plug-ins, but all I would "need" is the EQ, so unfortunately, that discount system doesn't really work for me. But anyway, it seems worth the price if I'm going to buy a 3rd party EQ.
