Bapu I have just re-read my thread about the scar/scab thing and now realise that I could have offended people with the 'it was just a metaphor you cretins' remark. I just wanted to say that if I did, I'm really sorry - I know how easy it is to do that on the internet where the written word can be easily misconstrued. I meant no malice in what I said and the original thread was written to try and stop people from keeping the 'you know which' thread alive. I am rarely serious about anything (except Football) and I mistakenly assumed that people in this forum knew that. Again, I'm really sorry if I have upset anyone and if this is my meltdown, so be it.

I'd like to have a meltdown. But since I don't read or participate in those kinds of freds, I don't know how we'd know about it.
In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.
