Whole Step down on midi instrument

Still learning the X1..
I sometimes tune my guitar a half step down or double flat on the tuner..
Sometimes quadruple flat.. A whole step down.
What do I need to do to the midi instrument to get there.
Capoing up  is easy with just hitting the key button up for each fret change .
Is this just as easy on a midi instrument going down...?

I'd just set the KEY + field in the midi track's inspector panel to -1, -2 or whatever is required.

    thanks,
been trying to figure out what a half b and whole step bb equals on the key,
a +1 is basically capo1 on the first fret..
