Why Do my waveforms take so long to load?

Why Do my waveforms take so long to load?

I record an audio file. I can see the wave form BEING recorded. But then it takes long as hell to show up ater I hit the stop button. Why is this?

Also, when i lick on some effects, it says that they are missing?
Should I reinstall? whats going on?

    what you see is a preview low-resolution wave.

    Sonar then draws the hi-res wave after.

    You're right though - it does take too long - still.

    Yeah can sure take a while.... not too bad I spose when you consider the crunching involved. Would be great to see it improved....

    I posted a thread last week asking how to improve this - I just thought a possible enhancement would be to draw 8 bit waveforms as an option - most of us are not doing sample level editing and Sound Forge supports this option I believe.
