Why can't I hide the X1 portion of the forum using the forum filter?

I'm moving back to the good stuff.

Now I'd like to be able to turn off the forum header for X1 so I don't have to observe the pain and suffering.

I have a feeling a bunch of you would appreciate my not observing the pain and suffering too.

Can I just have the old SONAR version forum section active and turn off the X1 section completely? The forum filter says "(Can not be hidden)"  but I'm hoping that the software is more flexible than that. It is really really hard for me to ignore all the subject lines that say things like

"X1C wont launch. This is a DISASTER."

and it's awfully tempting to comment about those circumstances but I'd really really like to put all that behind me and not have any idea that posts like these exist.

Can someone at Cakewalk modify the forum filter so that I can ignore it as I may with any other section I am disinterested in?

Pretty please?

best,
mike

Why not open and close the main forum list window several times and see exactly where the X1 forum choice is on your screen.  Then take a permanent black marker and just draw a thick line on your monitor obscuring it.  Fixed!

The only problem is then that it would still be tempting to open that which shall not be named....

Put a shortcut on your desktop for the old forum then you will not see the X1 forum at all. But you knew that already.

But Mike, if you hide the X1 forum you won't be able to see all the threads that say things like "First Impressions X1C - All good here at this stage" either.

Mike it's simple:

There's a new feature in X1c that allows you to hide the X1 fourm.

So just install X1c and you'll be all set!

In order, then, to discover the limit of deepest tones, it is necessary not only to produce very violent agitations in the air but to give these the form of simple pendular vibrations. - Hermann von Helmholtz, predicting the role of the electric bassist in 1877.

Mike, I open the forum via a desktop shortcut to a batch file that starts each page I most often look at in separate Firefox tabs. Currently, that does include the X1 forum, although that's the last one I go to. Copy the following text into a file and call it CW.bat:

start http://forum.cakewalk.com/tt.aspx?forumid=57
start http://forum.cakewalk.com/tt.aspx?forumid=5
start http://forum.cakewalk.com/tt.aspx?forumid=39
start http://forum.cakewalk.com/tt.aspx?forumid=9
start http://forum.cakewalk.com/tt.aspx?forumid=31

Remove the first line to eliminate the X1 page.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

I could never get a reliable recording system to work on anything until I upgraded to win7 64bit and an HP computer with a core i7 processor and Sonar X1c.  Never.  Ever.  And get 8 gigs of ram.  Hp ram.

Save up, do a complete upgrade, do the Sweetwater Tweaks for win7 (you can skip processor throttling if you don't have the setting in the bios), and then let the long digital domain nightmare end.  Forever.

Then take a permanent black marker and just draw a thick line on your monitor obscuring it.

That's absurd!

Everyone knows you should use white-out / liquid paper for that.

No, no - you're being absurd. As you well know you can remove permanent marker by rubbing a non-permanent marker on top of it and wiping it off.

You'll also be aware that when he switches to a different website using your method he won't be able to remove the liquid paper effectively ruining his monitor. How cruel a trick is that to play on someone? Disgraceful behaviour....
