Why does Sonar always save a wave?

Do I have a secret setting enabled? Each time I save a .bun file, I automatically get a wave saved also. If I save 5 times in 15 minutes, I get five waves numbered consecutively. How do I stop this please?

    Hello Al,

Can't answer your question directly, but I can ask you another one! Are you sure you nneed to use BUN files at all? Most people here believe that using per project folders (something not available with the old Cakewalk Pro Audio) has more or less made BUN files superfluous - if you want a backup, just copy the project folder. Hope this helps. Cheers.

I think it's in the global options.

What version are you using Big Al?

Just wondering 'cause ".bun" files haven't been used since the Pro Audio days, the actual extension is ".cwb" now.

Yes, it's under Options->Global->Audio Editing (in S4 at least and I believe S3 ... my memory bank of earlier experiences has been more or less erased)

When you get there, click on Help, or check out the relevant section of the S3/S4 manual - especially for info about how to convert your earlier projects to Per Poject Folders. I'm not being "cute" in saying this, honestly (I know that there are some who consider referring people to the manual to be crime worse than matricide!), it's just that it really is explained there very clearly, much better than I could.

    Good luck!
