Why doesn't my FX Bin display the effects for the track?

When I drag and drop an effect onto an entire track it is processed but does not display the effects on the FX Bin on Sonar X1 Studio. The effects work because I can hear them being played but they are not displayed on the track FX Bin on the "Inspector"... this is a problem because I might want to edit the effect in the future. Also when I double click the FX Bin the whole program crashes! Is there a way get rid of the Inspector and have all the effects, pan dials, volume dials (like older versions of Cakewalk) be displayed right on track view?? Thank you for any help.

Are you draggin it into the Clip or the Track effects box?
    What FX are you using?
If your crashing, i would do a clean re-install of the sonar program. yuo shoudl not be crashing.

What you are doing is dragging FX to a clip. Sonar X1 has clip FX bins as well as track FX bins. If you want the FX to be in the track FX bin you can do that in one of two ways. Right click on the track FX and select an FX to place there or you can drag an FX from the browser to the track FX bin.

If you want to place FX in a clip you do it the same ways as above except you do so in the first instance by right clicking on the clip FX bin.

They are two different places and effect things in different ways. A clip FX only effect the clip it is on. A track FX effects all clips on a track.
