I'd love to listen to yours.  I don't think you actually make music.  DO YOU?  Please post a link, oh wise Sonar guru...

Seriously. Hmm.  Well I think it becomes much more witty when you get rid of a lot of the gray from the interface and dump the icon.

Other than that it's pretty lithe and even tactile now.  I find you love it more if you just laugh at it when it's irksome.

Sonar, and all the other wonderfully amazing vsts I've recently acquired... lets me do things musically I only dreamed of a decade ago.  Actually, it's beyond my wildest imagination during the early days of the Drumtrax and other first attempts to midify the world. It has made me fall in love with firing her up whereas it use to be...challenging. I didn't do much music before because it was too difficult to figure out how to make the DAW work... Now it's Bliss!  Even when things go wrong I have to chuckle (is that "funny"?) and say, wtf... I'm obviously NOT in that imaginary thing idiots call heaven...

As a keen observer of the human species, I think I've finally found my true love...and it happens to be a DAW...the X factor which no other human could provide... isn't that funny???

I think it's funny that she's brought this magical muse into my life just as the planet teeters on climactic collapse... and humans blunder here and there, doing all their stupid things... and finally, as the jet stream is breaking down, arctic collapse is accelerating way faster than ever imagined, subsurface tunneling under greenland is escalating, methane is increasingly bubbling up from melting hydrates on the ocean floor, antarctic ramifications go continually ignored, and weather systems in general are going berzerk all over the planet...

I think it's funny that you make this post, and even more funny when I look at your name... humans do a lot of senseless things... case in point.  My response is therapeutically funny to me, and another way in which the Sonar experience is funny...

But mostly, I think it's funny or maybe ironic, but I do try and laugh about it as I cry... that Sonar is finally at a point where I can understand it and begin to wield it's wonder in chronicling the insanity of our species as we continue our oblivious headlong rush over the cliff...  a little joy before the roast...

is that funny enough for ya?

I've never been more creative musically, or gotten so much music done in such as a short period of time, as when X2 appeared. Now X3 has multiplied that. That's not particularly funny, but it sure is gratifying.

And per Vastman's comments...Rome may be burning, but at least we have decent fiddles.

I'd love to listen to yours.  By that I meant the GREAT SONAR GURU, John ...

Don't hold your breath DKNY.

Mind you, if memory serves me correctly, there are legitimate reasons why John chooses not to share his illustrious and no doubt stupendous creations with the rest of us.

Such was the importance of this matter, I recall there were four theories floating around the internet at one time as to why nobody here had been privileged enough to have heard any music from the master:
  1. It's so awesome and wonderful and beautiful and outstanding and awesome that, on hearing it, everyone else would immediately feel incredibly inadequate and in consequence, immediately consign their own music and audio software to the Recycle Bin of history. Subsequently, we would all fall to our knees and weep in adulatory worship at any mention of his name.
  2. John is a pro, and therefore every single note he has ever recorded is copyrighted or protected legally in some way, so he is unable to share with us even as much as a dotted crotchet of it. This theory also encompasses the fact that, as a successful and much sought after engineer, John has less than a dotted crotchet's worth of free time to record any personal music.
  3. Having spent every waking hour learning every minute facet of every version of SONAR, he hasn't actually ever actually gotten round to recording anything in SONAR - nothing whatsoever in fact.
  4. It's crap. Embarrassingly crap in fact. Especially for a chap who can talk the talk but falls considerably short when it comes to walking the walk.
Personally speaking, I favour theory #1. And let me put it on record that long may his manifold magnificent masterpieces be kept hidden from our auditory gaze. At least it gives the rest of us mere mortals the one thing that may nourish and acquiesce our otherwise humdrum and mundane musical lives... HOPE.

And I thank you for that John. That your continued musical silence will undoubtedly continue to be a source of much comfort to those of us who can merely aspire to any real level of competence in the realm of digital audio.

His magnificence in this continued benevolence to the Cakewalk community reminds me of that famous quote from Nelson Mandela's chiropodist, who on being questioned by the great statesman, uttered these immortal words, "There is nothing wrong with defeat."

Moving stuff. Moving stuff indeed.

What am I glad that these threads are not standard in the forum. If you were wise you would let the OP get a life. Maybe he can find his laughter after that.
Or send his picture to the state fair so someone else will get a laugh.
