Why is there a drum track playing when I record?

I just installed this program. When I start recording, there is a drum track playing in the background. I don't have any track loaded.  It also ends up in the recorded segment. How do I turn this off? I can't find any option for click tracks, or turning them on or off. And why would it end up the recorded segment?

    Are you talking about a metronome click track?

    If you are using XP, have a look at this. It may help.
    Not sure about Vista.

    I found it was the metronome turned on. Now the problem is that it turns on everytime I open a new project. Isn't there an option to turn it off completely?

    I believe it is turned on by default. you can completely disable it, have it play during recording or not, and have it play during playback or not.

    I experiment with it and find that sometimes I like to record with it and then disable it and add different drum tracks to it during playback.
