Just closing the loop on this - I was able to get the meters working correctly - it was actually a deselected option in the Control Surface properties page in SONAR - For anybody with an iPad - $8 buys you a pretty incredible control surface! Twisted - any luck getting this to work on the iPhone?

No luck my friend, and by the way, tech support is completely non existent. I'm giving up.

Also, if you're using an android device, TouchDAW supports sonar -- http://www.humatic.de/htools/touchdaw/

It doesn't have a tablet-based interface yet (it's sized for phones) but that's planned for the next version.

Thanks for sharing this. I purchased it last night and was blown away with what I could do without leaving the booth. I had  slightly sprained my ankle yesterday playing with my kids. Since I some vocals to lay down last night as well and didn't feel like running back and forth between the booth and screen, I installed Touchdaw and set it up as a Mackie control surface and was able to arm and record takes, switch tracks, save and undo, adjust levels, switch tracks all from my Driod Incredible. I could even name of the individual tracks. Best 5 bucks spent ever! Worked great in SONAR 8 and X1C.

Hmm... Will try this on my Android tablet too...

It is not expensive, and it could be fun, although my tablet is 10 inch and the interface probably is very huge on such a screen.

Still - having "real" hardware that you can touch and use with "eyes closed" is in my humble opinion better, but that is  talked about enough here...

Has anyone tried any of these apps with Motu Cuemix or RME Totalmix? I guess slapshot HD would work, but how about the others?

I have a practically NIB Tranzport. I bought it thinking I would use it to record live acoustic guitar but I never thought about using it just as a handy DAW control surface.. DOH.
