Why not combine all Sonar Forms?

Seems every second thread here is a question about x1, why not just get rid of this forum now that it's a dead horse. I'm sure the X1 folks would not mind answering the rare questions about S8 or older. After all they are the best ones to ask anyways.

X1 folks forget about 8.5. Some of them don't even remember that they own it. X1 owners are not getting any younger and it shows. It's best to let them dribble while they turn the ProChannel on and off repeatedly until it's time for bed.

...why not just get rid of this forum...
I vote to keep it.  I prefer not to sift through all the X1 posts to find pre-X1 Sonar stuff.  Maybe it could be merged with the Home Studio forum though.

Ahh yes that might work too, It's just there's very little traffic here now and I find less and less reason to visit.

There is still more traffic in here than in lots of other online forums that are considered as "active".  And, for those of us who didn't upgrade to X1, why would we want to visit the X1 forum anyway?

Agreed! Just there's less and less info and people you could help. Combining with all the other versions makes more sense. Leave x1 to stew in there own misery. But there is more help from those users, nice they still come round here to toss a bone now and then.

Not shut down, just combine Producer with Home Studio. Create more traffic. I bet there are lots of Producer questions being asked in the X1 forum now too. Something is not obvious to new people judging by the amount of people starting new threads in the wrong forum.

i dont use x1, probably wont for some time...

i like having a forum that focuses on the older system

i'm actually on 6PE right now, and have not had any good reason to upgrade.

There's another thread where it has been suggested that this forum be retitled to Sonar8.5 and older.
I think that's a great idea. Producer and Studio is not a clear reference at this time.
Much of the dialogue in the X1 forum concerns functions that simply did not exist in earlier versions.
And there are differences, mostly in limitations, between the various products.
With the forums split up as they are, there is a fair likelihood that the person answering a question is familiar with that particular program.
Yes, this forum has slowed down, but it's much more comfortable now.
Personally, I like less traffic. Sometimes people don't get back to a thread right away, and it is much easier to keep track of a conversation.

I guess choosing a title would be an quandary. It seems the majority use 8.5.with a few rag tag older users occasionally. What about combined with Home studio? Those versions are about the same , just a few missing features. It seems a lot of new traffic is via Google search. Most of the X1 questions ending here are because someone has a problem and Googles " issue with Sonar".

Many of the posts would still have the word sonar in them.

This is the only CakeWalk forum I visit regularly, personally I wouldn't like to see it combined with the X1 Forum. I don't necessarily see that more traffic makes for a better forum. I read the message headers, and if I feel I'm qualified to respond to a thread I will do so.

I should imagine that X1 theads would be moved by the mods into the appropriate forum if they are given a heads up to do so.
