Wierd crash

Hello!

I use Sonar 8.3.1 on a Windows 7n 64-bit PC.  Why?  Cause it works and I know it well and don't have much spare time to work out the kinks of X1 that I was having.

Anyways, here's the problem I'm having that I've never seen in my years of using Sonar.

I was working on a song and all of a sudden the audio stopped playing back and I had a strange 'digital' noise coming from my monitors.  I closed Sonar and noticed that my screen was actually being affected.  I opened up a web browser and half of it was black.  It seemed like the graphics were jumbled for a lot of things.  I opened up a song in WMP and it displayed very weird, loud, waves instead of the normal.  And no audio.

So I restart and load the project again.  It tells me PErfectspace.dll has an issue.  And UAD EL Fatso Jr.dll.  Also tells me a few Invalid Pointer exceptions where thrown, and gives me a crash dump file.
Cakewalk doesn't support anything prior to 8.5 :(

So I load the program in safe mode without these plugs.  Same thing happens while simply playing back the full song.  At a random point it freezes and a constant digital sound is heard.  Screen jumbles a bit again when opening and closing windows.

Anyone ever come across this?  Is it perhaps a UAD card dying?  Or maybe even my Lynx card?  I'm kinda freaked out.  This PC is like 2 months old and has been very stable thus far.  Any help or experience is appreciated.

    Update!

I opened the project in X1-64bit (I have this also installed on my system in hopes of getting to know it better ;) ) and it opened and played through without issue.

So I saved a new version, and started to cautiously mess around with plugins.

I loaded up a UAD-1 plugin and I received an error that the UAD-1 card was in use by another program.  Task manager shows there are no other apps open.  I also didn't see anything in particular that was weird in the Processes tab.
Anyone able to make sense of this??  Is UAD-1 unable to play with X1?

Another update.. this is getting odd lol

I visited the UAD forums after searching Google.  Found that if I go into Preferences->VST Settings->BitBridge Server Configuration... and select a new config option....works!
Why?  Is there anything I can do to not have to do this?

Anyways, here's hoping this play nice. *fingers crossed/stomach in knots*

this sounds like a memory problem to me.  bitbridge uses memory in different ways depending on which option you choose.  I would advise running Memtest.  if you get a problem, obviously replace some of your memory.  if you don't see a problem in memtest, I would still not rule out it being a memory problem.  in that case I'd take memory out of your system to see if you still have the problem, changing sticks in different configurations until you determine if one or more of your memory sticks has gone bad or not.
