Wilko Johnson

What a mighty shame, Wilko has been diagnosed with terminal pancreatic cancer.

He might not be too well known in the US I suppose, but he was a hugely popular member of the rhythm and blues band Dr Feelgood, still in my top 3 favourite live acts. He later played with his own band The Solid Senders and Ian Dury and The Blockheads

Very engaging character, with a huge stage prescence. If you ever get the chance to see it there's a great doc about the band called 'Oil City Confidential'

Some of the keen-eyed might have spotted him playing the executioner in 'Game of Thrones' season 1.

    A mighty shame indeed.

I was not long ago I saw him being interviewed and playing on Later with Jools Holland. While I was not a fan as such he is great entertainer and musician.

The best outward facing musician, showman EVER!

You could not watch the Feelgood's in their heyday without having to lurch uncontrolllably around the room.  Coming from someone that usually needs poking with a sharp stick before he shows any sign of life I'd say that was some testament.

That's a real shame. I last saw him last year when he was supporting the Stranglers.

What a showman, he really worked the crowd with his "machine gun" guitar playing. To see him on the same stage as Norman Watt-Roy was a privilege not to mention hugely entertaining.

    Life really is sh1t sometimes.
