Will Adventus VSTI plugin synthesizer work with MC5?
I have MC5 and really want more dance sounds. Right now I have CW Soundcenter and NI Kore Player but those dont really have the dance sounds I'm looking for. So I found this today http://www.softplug.com/adventus.html its called Adventus VSTI plugin synthesizer. The demo songs sound just like the style I'm looking for, so I downloaded the free demo but its not working with MC5, I dont know if maybe I did something wrong or if it just doesn't work. I would really like to use this becasue its only $30 and sounds perfect. But if you guys know of any other VSTs that sound like this that DO work with MC5 let me know. Thanks =)

I also read on the Adventus website that one guy used this with Sonar and he just needed to get a Cakewalk adapter or something, and then it worked great. Does anyone know anything about that?

Most VST's by 3rd party vendors will work ok. All the ones I have work fine. Some of the free stuff you can find may not but even most of that will run fine. I'd say yeah... it should work... buy it if it's got the sounds you want.

you don't need the Adapter for MC5, that was for MC3 and below. when you say "it doesn't work" - that doesn't tell us enough info. what doesn't work about it? can you not find it in the softsynth menu? or have you found it there and try to open it and it won't open or does it open but not play? or what? please remember we can't see what you see, so you must explain things in detail.

Oh right sorry. =) it says "Cant load module" and then mentions like 10 different things like unkargherth SE reverb, Synthedit BPM clock V2...stuff like that. Then it will open but no sound will come out, and the audio display bar will be like maxed out like its playing a lot of sound but nothing is coming out. Hopfully that helps.

Well I fixed that problem but I'm still not getting any audio. But it finds all the modules now. The problem was I was only moving 1 file into the cw vst folder and not the entire Adventus folder. So I moved that and it loaded up fine. But now I still am not getting any sounds through Adventus. Does anyone know how to register Adventus and where i can click free demo.

It should work. I just downloaded the demo and got it working in very short order in SONAR Home Studio 6 on a Win 7 64-bit computer. How are you trying to get sound? By playing the onscreen keyboard? What is listed in the synth track for the output?

@57Gregy Did you have to do anything with registering it first. If so how did you do that?

No, I saw nothing about registering. I think you only need to do that if you buy it. The demo is pretty unusable since it makes a static sound every 10-15 seconds, but it will let you sample the sounds. What I did: clicked Insert>Soft Synths>VST Plug-ins>Adventus. The synth inserted. I already had a MIDI track with notes in it so I just changed the output to Adventus and made sure the synth was output to my Master bus which was output to my interface. Turned all the volumes down (synths are sometimes very LOUD), clicked play and it worked. Played with the patches for awhile and some I think I could use although I can't remember which ones. I don't do a lot of synth stuff so I won't be spending any money on it. So, set the output of the MIDI track that your controller is plugged into to the synth. Make sure the synth is sent to a valid output, preferably a bus, not directly to the sound card/interface, then that bus to the interface. Not guaranteeing it will work for you, but signal routing is often where the problem lies.

why are you moving the files into the cakewalk folder? this is sometimes OK, but not always. as I said above, just add the location of the installation of this VST into the cakewalk scan folders instead of trying to move everything.

I tried that, Reece, but when I browsed to the Adventus folder, it wouldn't open to show the .dll file. When I clicked on the Adventus folder, nothing happened; it didn't get listed to scan for it. So I opened Windows explorer, found the Cakewalk VST plug-ins folder, opened the Adventus folder which is on the Desktop and dragged the .dll into the VST folder. Then it worked. I think. I may have dragged the entire folder into the VST folder.

I just tried to do it the same way you did and sadly it didn't work. I noticed you said that you went Insert>Soft Synths>VST Plug-ins>Adventus but mine goes like Insert>Soft Synths>Adventus my Adventus isnt in VST Plug-ins. Could this mean that maybe I did something wrong and that's why its not working?

I like to create a new folder in the Cake/VST or Plug in folder just for the new synth or FX I am installing. I rescan it and everything generally works fine.
