Will a Reinstall and then just patch"d" be okay or have to run each patch

Hi guys,

Up until recently X3d has been pretty good though been busy with work and then family hols.
I started getting freeze ups on numerous pgms running on my PC not just sonar.

So I did a clean up of the c drive and defrag and then reinstalled X1, X2 and X3. and then X3d patch.
I am sure I read here that the d patch only is fine as it contains all previous updates. This is correct?

I suspect now a hardware issue.  Some conflict in there somewhere.
Any suggestions?

Yes, the D patch is cumulative so it is all you need. Any specific reason why you reinstalled all the other versions? I intend to do the same when I wipe my system but that's more for educational/comparative purposes and to open older projects if I run into trouble but it's not necessary. If you only want the legacy effects from X1/X2 you can just do a custom install and snag the effects you want. Also if I understood Craig's post the other day correctly if you do a custom install of X3 some of those legacy effects are still available but just aren't included in the default installation (because some are 32bit which might cause problems and there are other newer tools that do basically the same thing). Just though I would mention that.

    Cheers.

    thanks beepster,
I did have issues with 3Xc. before Christmas and did the disable 64bit engine. I then got busy at work then Family hols.
So haven't been online to follow whats what.
Basically my son and I share my music computer for his gaming. Yes, not ideal I know.
I'll get a new PC when I can afford it. For me.yeah right.

I accidentally uninstalled my X1, X2 and 3 thinking I was making space in his user account.
We are both administrators which is what I forgot.

I decided to do a clean up of the drive and a fresh install. I didn't think about custom installs. Thanks.
If I remove X1 and X2 and do the custom installs this will be okay without reinstalling X3?

Incidentally, there is one plugin from version 7  I really like. Simple mono echo/delay.
I cannot find any plugin as simple to replace it, All others like to include all bells and whistles.
My work around has been to use the sonitus delay with duplicate left right settings.
