I'll be using it well into the new year. I'm pretty invested in a project with a year+ of work. Moving now would make me very grumpy.

Similar boat, different sea. There are things left to do in SONAR that I need to finish up, and then Reaper takes the spotlight. SONAR will be a nice conversation piece on the coffee table. I'd rather be with a product that still has some future left.

I could drop SONAR right now. I have no real tie-ins... Any unfinished projects that I could have returned to, to try and complete, well, I can easily let them go and start afresh with new ideas, experimentations. As to whether I actually stop using it... Only time will tell... I'll keep you posted...

I'm really not sure how much I will use Sonar in the future. I started thinking that I would stick with Sonar until I was forced to change... I then decided to cover my options because of the commercial offers. The current Cubase offer plus 2 or 3 years of upgrades being cheaper than a full price purchase in 2 or 3 years time. Plan was to keep using Sonar, take some time to learn Cubase and make the switch at some future date. Playing with Cubase I found it easier than I expected, I like some of what's on offer and now understand what I'm going to lose by not using Sonar. I have bought the full version of Lounge Lizard, before the upgrade offer emerged, and True Pianos. I'm still making my mind up about Nomad as the $99 for the larger package looks a lot better than the upgrade offer for what Cakewalk included. I'm definitely going to miss some of the Cakewalk effects, along with the support for DNA Grooves and Style Enhancer, a third party MFX. But looking to the future my plan is to focus on Cubase and use Sonar when/if it makes sense with my immediate focus being on making sure I have a suitable replacement for the content that I use that is locked to Sonar.

Already owned Reaper, Studio One Pro 3 and Mixbus 32C. I did pick up the killer deal on Samplitude. One way or another I'm covered. My plan is to collaborate with whatever DAW is necessary (at the time) which may well still be SONAR.

Who knew that the grass was greener on the other side of the fence. This year I'm hearing that the Grammy's will be having a special tribute to all the companies Gibson killed in 2017.
