Will it ever be possible to buy Rapture Pro again?

Title says it all.  I wish I had bought it 3 years ago when it was announced.  Now it's not available.

That is a question for the folks at BandLab. Meng does look at the forums here, so perhaps he will see this and reply. I have to say, I like the Rapture instruments so I hope so.

I even like the Dimension Instruments, too.

Sonar Platinum, Windows 7 Pro 64 bit, Intel NUC micro-workstation with 5th Gen Intel i5-5250U, 16 GB RAM and 1.25 TB Storage, Yamaha MG10XU Mixer USB Interface, Yamaha HPH-MT8 Monitor Headphones, Yamaha MX-49 controller synth

I don't see why not. Bandlab bought all Cakewalk IP so that would include Rapture. Nothing is for sale at the moment, but when they get all that online again I imagine everything by Cakewalk that was for sale before will be again. I shouldn't imagine they would drop any products.

Splat, Win 10 64bit and all sorts of musical odds and sods collected over the years, but still missing a lot of my old analogue stuff I sold off years ago.

I'd assume the same; it's not locked to SONAR and is a popular product beyond the SONAR community, so it's worth money to BandLab. However, I am also assuming that Rapture falls within the Cakewalk IP. AFAIK it does.

I look at Rapture Pro as an amalgamation and consolidation of Rapture and Dimension Pro. So I don't think will see Dimension again.

I like Rapture Pro, it sounds good and is straight forwards to use and get good results. I particularly like the modulation matrix, it's tidy and an intuitive. I think it's make over looks good and clean and modern too. Persnay I'd like to see a mechanism for dropping your own samplers in it, and making it s making it a true sampler  BUt depite my own wishes it seems a product that can jut be released as is and will sell, and make the company look good.

I never  got  int Z3TA, but a while back you'd see it on  'Top Synths' lists and seems well rated. It seems really capable of more aggressive sounds. It's last makeover was 7 years ago now. If they sell it it would need to be really cheap. So I wounder if it would be better ff being held off BandLabs product list and released later as Z3TA3 after another face lift but with some extra magic under the hood to make it current again.

Yes, Rapture Pro has a home with us too! Unfortunately it doesn't have priority over TDFKAS right now but it is very high up on the list.

Sweet!

Thanks Meng!
I've been hoping this to be true as I hadn't yet managed the upgrade from Rapture Pro Session, but I do have full Rapture and Dimension Pro...

Rapture Pro is a very underrated synth and does things no other synth can do, so I'm glad to hear it will have a home. Perhaps then more people, not just Cakewalkers, will be able to find out how useful it is.

I do hope the loose end where it loses multisamples, even if they're in the correct multisamples folder, gets fixed. Kontakt does this well - if it can't find the samples, you tell it where it should look - problem solved. Also the amplitude envelopes are really unpredictable. Aside from those issues, it's a very coo instrument.

The "sample search” overlay would be a nice addition to all the VSTs that work with samples, as well as for the DAW itself. There are a lot of instances where the user is left with simply ”*.wav cannot be found," but actually looking for them (all) would be useful... i.e., not just as a one-by-one, but to go get everything not found in one pass.

ASUS ROG Maximus X Hero (Wi-Fi AC), i7-8700k, 16GB RAM, GTX-1070Ti, Win 10 Pro, Saffire PRO 24 DSP, A-300 PRO, plus numerous gadgets and gizmos that make or manipulate sound in some way.

Yeah, and they also let you put a directory to search in, and it will find anything in that directory or its subdirectory.  If you had the time, I suppose you could just specify the root of your sample drive and it would work.

yeah please, working on a bank just now, not using any custom waves, just the multi samples that are there, hope that has less issues

Yea, Rapt Pro is a good one.  After losing authorization I deleted and then downloaded it again from CC.  Works better than it did before, tho it still loses multisamples.  Even tho it ain't getting worked on (yet!) I"d love to see a "performance pad" a la Alchemy added that is as nice for touchscreen work, and a big ole number somewhere on the element that is in focus.

It would be a virtual sin not to be selling Rapture Pro anymore. And the separate VST versions LP EQ and LP Multiband Compressor, and Adaptive Limiter are excellent and powerful tools for any DAW.
I would imagine the standard version of Rapture should be a shoe in for Bandlab, considering it already runs on an iPhone.

You CAN already record and make your own samples with Rapture Pro. Instructions are in the Help/user manual files.
Being Rapture Pro supports all Dimension Pro patches, you can also greatly expand your sample library @ DigitalSoundFactory.com.

I haven't looked at Alchemy recently, but the Instrument screen in Rapture Pro does have a couple X/Y pads, a vector mixer, and eight macro knobs; is this similar to Alchemy's "performance pad"?

This is great news !  For those who haven't tried out the new BandLab Cakewalk, my initial experience has been a great one.  I had been using Platinum since buying the 'lifetime' subscription, and so far there is absolutely no difference running the BandLab iteration.  It even downloads and installs quicker, with no licensing issue to worry about.  All of my plugs are showing up and working, the only caveat is that there are a few in weird locations which I will have to rescan.  Thank you BandLab for resurrecting Cakewalk.  This is beyond my wildest expectation.

That would be a most welcome improvement.  That was always my biggest gripe about Rapture and Dimension.

Rapture pro is way fun when you have a touch screen.

StudioCat > I use Windows 10 and Sonar Platinum. I have a touch screen.
I make some videos. This one shows how to do a physical loopback on the RME UCX to get many more equalizer nodes.

I didn't think RapPro was anything special since I have DPro and Rapture already.  Seemed to me the only advantage was combining the two into one.  The controls simplification, so it seems, also looks like it "crippled" the options in the previous two synth. So, for me, it was not an attractive buy.  However, Craig stated it has unique capability, but I still don't see it as a worth while investment, all bugs notwithstanding.

Nonetheless, it's good to hear BandLab with continue its availability.  Otherwise, I figure it can be resold due to the end of the license agreement (though I may be wrong).

Kind regards,

I don’t post much, but have to say both rapture old ,and rapture pro are great instruments. Even using omnisphere, zebra, diva, kontakt, rapture is beautiful and I’ve used it from the beginning. Hope to see it progress.
