Will there be a new version of Sonar X1 released this year ?

I think Sonar X1c Producer is complete and feature rich and no bugs.. What else can they do.  They already changed the interface after 10 years.

I hope cakewalk doesnt milk it and sticks with X1c   what else can they do ?

IMO from what Ive seen and heard, there will not be a new Sonar this year and possibly next year too.

I think it's a safe bet that no, there will be no new version this year. I doubt they'd let two years pass without a major revision, though.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

I have searched but I cannot find it... so I don't know what that means BUT... I am sure that I read a post earlier this week and I thought Seth wrote it but I could be wrong. Anyway it essentially said that there was no timetable for a release of X2 and that it certainly wouldn't be released soon and probably not announced at NAMM. I know that nothing is written in stone but whatever happens I am sure that if X2 is released sooner than peple are comfortable with that CAke will be considerate of those who bought Expanded and offer a discount. I already paid the 49 bucks to get Z-2 so actually I am pretty happy with what they are offering as new and that all fixes are stillgoing to be free to all. I think they know better than to bring X2 to market in 2011. I got the idea that they are comitted to making X1 work while adding some components and, IMO, the direction is good but dang, if you don't like it... don't buy it, or just buy the part or parts you like.
Personally, I am going for the 79.00 deal whether I need it all or not. It is the price of eating out twice... and it lasts much longer and I want to support Cakewalk. I like X1 and I want them to make money. I want CW to be a healthy asset for Roland. Then maybe Roland will invest even more into it and it will become more and more awesome.
I find it much easieer to be an optomist. I find it much easier to be happy. I find it much easier to like people. It is a fact that it takes fewer muscles to smile than it does to frown and at the end of the day, it is what it is and like the BEATLES said... "and in the end, the love you take is equal to the love you make".

I will also parrot someone else... FreddieH... 64bit, it really matters! (it really does).

But.. I'd bet the farm that there will be an X2 (or Z1) in 2012... heck if they don't release it before December 2012 what would be the use... actually I think if they wait and release in Nov or Dec 2012 there will be a bunch of people who will wait to see if the world ends before they buy... really, not me. My plan is to spend all my money while it will still buy something and the world isn't going to end in 2012..

Julien, I think you mean this post by Seth: http://forum.cakewalk.com/fb.ashx?m=2388708

    Seth Perlstein [Cakewalk]

Also, will the bug fixes be available to those who do not purchase the expanded/production suite?

Even though I plan on purchasing the expansions, I too am wondering this. I hope Cakewalk does the right thing here.

Yes, we are planning to release another free update to X1 that will have the various bug fixes from Expanded. I'm not exactly sure of the time table for this release, but it is in the works, and is certainly worth noting. This update would be for all X1 Producer, Studio, and Essential users, even if you don't purchase Expanded.

Also, we're not going to turn around and release X2 later this year, or even early next year like at NAMM or something.

We made a huge change with X1 and we're committed to make it the best DAW we can and expand it to its fullest capabilities before moving on to the next version of SONAR. That's not to say we can make every single change or bring back every single feature that you guys want within X1's life cycle, but we've changed our release cycle to allow more time between major version releases, and we hope that benefits both the program and all of our users alike.
