Win 10 - Visual Aid

One thing that drives me nuts is that VST developers still think we are all running 800x600 displays. When I open up Kontakt, etc. I can't read that tiny text! Well Win 10 can help a bit. It turns out you can set a zoom setting on a per monitor basis. So I can set my second monitor to 125% and that helps a lot. Find the setting by right clicking on the desktop and selecting display settings. Choose the monitor you want to change and move the slider under "Change the size of text, apps and other items". Apply your changes and your vision magically improves.

There is also an included screen magnifier that comes in handy.

It's not just tiny fonts, but also the low-contrast GUIs that have become fashionable recently. tkDelay from tritik is a favorite of mine, but the light grey text on dark grey background is annoying as hell. I probably wouldn't be using it at all, had I not been able to first identify the controls using the magnifier and memorize their positions.

All else is in doubt, so this is the truth I cling to.

Yeah bit, and I wish every video game had a "pong" like UI.
