Hi. It would be helpful with your pc specs, Audio Interface, SONAR version (A-K). How did you install Windows (upgrade or clean install)? And how did you install SONAR? Did you use CCC? All the best.

Hi ya.As an old guy not too familiar with all the specs and installs,My PC is a dell inspiron with an i3 processor.I have a focusrite scarlett 2i2 interface.I was using Sonar X3,then came the windows update last week.No idea what version it was but it must be the latest one windows have done. This is windows 10 by the way. When X3 wouldn't work I thought maybe X3 was the problem not being compatible with win 10(it had been working on win 10 fine until the update).I then went for the Sonar Platinum as that was supposed to be compatible. This doesent work either. The win 10 was an upgrade from win 8.1.The Sonar was a download upgrade from cakewalk Sonar X3

Have you checked for for updates to your 2i2? Did you use Cakewalk Control Center to download and install SONAR Platinum? When you say that it does not work. Does that mean that the program will not start, or that you do not have sound? All the best.

I have not tried the update for the scarlett interface. Will give that a try.I installed something called command center. The download did come from cakewalk through this command center. When I try to open the X3 or platinum on the desktop. It just says that it is not working, will send a message to windows to try to solve the issue. When I troubleshoot it ,it says its not compatible.

Davjolan you need to change your title. It has no meaning. You can say "I need help in reinstalling Sonar".

Have you tried to connect it to a different usb port (not usb3, and do not connect via hub). Try another usb cable? Are you running as Administrator? Try adjusting power settings to maximum performance, if not already. All the best.

In the downright corner on your controlbar, do you have an icon for power (should look like a battery or a plug)? If so right click on it. You should get power options. Click high performance. Hope it works. Did you try a different usb port or cable? All the best.

OK you seem to not understand it is important to have a viable title so others can search for your thread in the future. Having your avatar as the title is meaningless.

I do not have a 2i2, so I am out of ideas. Hopefully you get it sorted either by someone else here, or you tech soon. Hope it is something easy to fix. Best of luck.

I agree. I clicked it because I thought someone new said hi, and thought I'd say hi back. You can do this by editing your top line of the post. Include the 2i2. It will get you much more help.

I would also remove my "answered mark" so others see that there is still an issue. All the best.

Have you tried rebooting your PC? Complete shutdown and restart.

Then let me apologize for not realizing that. As a host I have some abilities to edit and change posts. Because I asked you to do this and got no response back I was getting a little impatient with you. That was my mistake. Now that you have pointed out you are new it is my duty to welcome you to the forum and to help you in anyway I can. One can edit one's own post at any time. This includes the title. Its not considered good form to edit a post if it has already been read and people rely on it staying the same. This doesn't apply to typos or spelling errors. If a host suggests a change in the title its a good idea to do so. No host really wants to edit another's post. It goes against our belief of no tampering with another's work or posting. I hope you see the new title and find it better than the one you had. I do welcome you to the forum and hope you find this forum as nice a place as we do.

I would reinstall Sonar but this time run the installer as an administrator. I know this Sonar will run very nicely on Win 10. For getting on the forum use a browser. I use Opera. Edge will work fine too.
