Win32 Error While Normalizing

I have an X3 project with 24 audio tracks (24b/48k wavs) where each track is about 2 hours and 40 minutes long. I would like to normalize 3 of the tracks but whenever I try to do it I get the following error:

Win32 Error [0x80070057]
The parameter is incorrect.

The way I am normalizing the tracks is by going to Process->Apply Effect->Normalize.  I have tried normalizing the tracks together and individually and I always get the same error. I also tried restarting Sonar, restarting my computer, etc. and the error persists. I have used the normalize function several times in the past including on long audio files and have never had an issue before.

I am currently running Sonar X3 Producer X3e build 352 - x64. My computer is running Windows 8.1 Pro with a 64-bit OS.

Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

I just found that I can get around this problem by freezing the track, normalizing the frozen track (the frozen track normalizes fine and does not produce the Win32 error), and then copying the new normalized file to a new non-frozen track so that I can add plugins and such.

This is still more of a band-aid than a solution so if anyone has a better fix I'd love to hear it. Thanks!

I also just found some shorter audio files (about 15min each) from the same session from the same 3 sources and they were able to normalize without any problems. I did not have to freeze them first. So it seems like this issue is related to the length of the file.

There was a post years ago about this problem happening with some operation that was resolved by unchecking the 64 bit high precision setting. That might have a similar effect to freezing the track if the problem is related to a mismatch in data format.
