Win7 64bit & X1 - Test install on spare IDE drive. Some queries... ??

Hi All,

Finally got around to this.  Just on a Test HDD.  Still have my XP SP3 running fine.  So Win7 64bit and X1 64 bit installed.  And all my h/w/ is ok too:

First thing I notice is that some of my VSTi's seem a little weird.  FM8 for example.  Installed as 32bit.  The GUI itself is fine but the outer window is not.  You know the area along the top of plugins where you can select presets, save icon, load banks & ACT, mute, solo etc.  This almost looks ghosted.  There is a bluey dot matrix texture to it and there is none of the options listed above.  Anyone know what the problem is here?

Also I was a little carefree installing VSTi's as I'm only on a dummy drive but I installed everything to Cakewalk/VST plugins and more or less ignored any other possibilties.  I'm not quite sure on how I might need to install same plugins twice to different folders.

Anyway for now my main gripe is this weird outer window.  Any advise is welcome.

Thanks

AFAIK: I believe that indicates that its a 32-bit plug and BitBridge is unable to bridge it to 64-bit. So if you need to use that plug-in, you'll have to run the 32-bit version of Sonar.

davey:  thanks.  It seems to work ok still but I do need those options.  Hmmm sounds like a good diagnosis though.  Hoping a few others can jump in to confirm this?

This is normal for 32 bit VSTs loading through Bitbridge so they can be used in 64 bit Win. Downside is you cannot dock them in Multidock. Some 32 bit VSTs will not even work in 64 bit Sonar so if you need them you can also install 32 bit Sonar on same computer. If you do then run the full 32 bit install so all the VSTs install properly.
