Windows 10 WASAPI Question

Hey everyone,

I've read where WASAPI driver mode would enable improved use of on board sound cards.  Should this mode be functional for any hardware?  I've got an RME Multiface II that I use ASIO with and was wondering if I should be able to use WASAPI mode with that.

Thanks!

Donny

Definitely not. RME ASIO drivers are exemplary.

You should be ABLE to use them Donny, if that is your question. As Sanderxpander pointed out however,  the Asio drivers for the Fireface are excellent so there should be no need. That said, I found the old wasapi driver worked far better with the playlist on win 10 than any of my asio drivers (including the RME).  Go figure! The new wasapi exclusive driver, on the other hand, doesn't seem to play quite so nicely just yet. Swings and roundabouts:)
