Windows 7 and Microsoft Excell - Problems anyone?

Anyone out there using Win7 and MS-Excell.  Our office just upgraded to new PC's running Win 7 and I have noticed Excell exhibiting some odd behavior.  Were using:

Microsoft Excell 2007 (12.0.6535.5002) SP2 MSO (12.0.6535.5002)

I work for an electrical contracting firm and I have a custom spreadsheet that I use to taly our Bid Proposals.  One cell references the sum of 10 other cells and does NOT update when this sum changes.  I corrected and saved several times to no avail.  I have not ever had problems with excel files getting corrupted.  Is this possible as described above?  This could result in some extremely expensive errors.  I've put a bug in our IT dept's ear but they have not had time to contact me yet.

Is anyone aware of any issues?

Thanks,
Rich

Did you Save As... into the new xlsx format? That tends to clear out a lot of cruft.  Keep backups of course!!!

No!  I did not think to do so.  I'll give that a try and see if that changes anything.

    Thanks!

I obviously have something screwy on my desktop.  I emailed the file to another Estimator in our office and it's NOT doing what it does on my machine.  Pfffft!  Go figure.  I must have a bad Dell Machine (lol)

It is nice subject to discussion about Windows7 and MS OFFICE Excel problem. Actually Excel is so helpful to reduce your daily business work. Excel 2007 is the most significant new release of Excel in over a decade. You can also open Excel 2007 files in Excel 2003 With the help of Advance feature of 2007. If you are working in Excel 2007 and you want to save that file then go to save option in that option you can get on more option " 1998-2003", if you save in this format you can also open that file in 2003.

Do you have the MS Office 2007 import filters installed in Office 2003?  There are some different file formats and extensions.  I have Office 2003 but not 2007.

Here is the free Compatibility Pack download. http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyId=941B3470-3AE9-4AEE-8F43-C6BB74CD1466&displaylang=en

As far as the problem with the one Dell machine, it's not a Dell hardware problem, you could have an HP, Gateway or whatever and have the exact same SOFTWARE problem.
