Windows 7 and SONAR Platinum: compatibility, stability?
Since the last Windows 10 updates I've been experiencing some strange glitches with SONAR Platinum. I'm considering replacing Windows 10 with Windows 7. The idea is that I would never have to worry about Windows updates rendering SONAR unusable, because there won't be further Windows 7 updates. How well does SPLAT work with Windows 7? Any problems that would make my idea unwise? Thanks.

Platinum & Win 7 work in perfect harmony on my system, but it should be mentioned that the only time it WAS connected to the internet was for SONAR updates

SPLAT works fine for me on a win7x64 system with all the latest updates. If you are worried about internet security it would probably be wise to invest in a independent security solution. There are probably less holes in win7 than win10, where new one's are created with every update.

Thanks for all the responses. I'm not worried about security; I use this laptop only for music, so no visiting questionable sites. Good to know Win 7 is a viable option.

ANd don't forget W 8.1, It got a longer life expectancy than 7 and more or less the same updating system as 7. YOu can tell it " Tell me when there is a update but let me deside when to download and install" This is why w10 sucks.

I'm running Plat 32-bit (for VST compatibilty - better than the bridge component) on Windows 7 64-bit Ultimate and mine seems to run well. However, to avoid the issues that Cactus is referring to, that's why I deployed Win 10 Pro on my laptop - it has more control over such items! :-)
