Windows 7 x64 driver - control surface still inactive
Hi, I installed the new Win-7 64 bit VS-100 driver but the control surface is still inoperative. Inside Sonar PE x64, I can add the VS-100 as a control surface, but the in and out port selections (VS-100 Control) in the control surface dialog do not retain the settings after the dialog is closed. I also noted that the Stop button on the control surface lights up as Windows is booting - at the point that the USB bus is initialized - but it goes out again right before the Windows login screen appears. The control surface works fine on 32 bit Windows 7 using the Vista 32 bit drivers. I have no other control surfaces or midi devices connected, so it seesm to be a pretty simple arrangement. The control surface seems to work fine with 32 bit Sonar PE and the Win-7 64 bit driver loaded. How is your x64 driver installation working?

Still no control surface dll. It has a couple changes in the asio panel for the driver. Seems to work fine, but I haven't hammered on it. I just installed it to see if they had put support for the control surface in the package. Disappointed again.

Just bought the V-100 yesterday. Running Sonar 8.5 64-bit with Windows 7 64. Had no idea that there was no control Surface .dll... The salesman at Guitar Center didn't know that small,,, detail... I would not have bought it... Is there any work around?

The only way I see to make the control surface work under Win-7 x64 is to install the 32 bit of Sonar in a side-by-side configuration and run the 32 bit Sonar. That seems to work fine for me. Still, I sure would like to see a 64 bit driver.

What does this actually mean, in terms of what works and what doesn't? What features are part of the "control surface"? I'm just about to buy a VS-100 on the basis that there's a Win7 64-bit driver for it, but if most of its functionality is broken, it's no use to me. Cheers, Martin

Everything works in Win7 X64; audio interface, control surface, plugins, soft synths, etc. The VS-100 64-bit Control Surface plugin has been included in the free SONAR 8.5.2 update.

Hi seth: I posed this question to you in another thread, but I think you missed it. In the spring I bought Sonar PE 8, in the summer I got the VS 100. A few weeks ago I bought a new 64-bit Windows 7 PC. My credit card and I are not currently on civil speaking terms. For those VS 100 owners who are not currently in a position to update to 8.5, is there a 64-bit solution for VS 100 console? Thanks!

I'm having the same problem with my control surface not working. I have successfully installed the windows 7 driver- and have followed the instructions in the manual faithfully-- several times. I've read throught this post and it seems that the issue has never been resolved. Hopefully, this thread gets put back into the limelight- I really want this thing to work.
