Windows 8, X2, all 64bit "Track Bounce" and Multi-Track export Crashtastic!

Hi, So I tried everything out today, just a quick project nothing complex, when bouncing a midi track routed to a Kontakt library to a new audio track I am getting a fairly hideous crash. X2 is closing and the process cannot be killed from Task Manager, hence X2 cannot be reopened, requiring a reboot. Gave up at 8 tracks lol. Anyone else seeing this behaviour? Other than that everything worked perfectly, but was forced to give up. Thanks in advance.

It's not just Kontakt. Selecting 8 audio tracks and exporting them as a wav also does the same.

Just to re-itterate, it's not just Kontakt. Selecting 8 audio tracks and exporting them as a wav also does the same.

sorry, crossposted... if it's as simple as exporting an audio-only mixdown you should contact cakewalk, they're working on their win8 compatibility patch at the mo, so your experience should be useful to them :)

Not seeing that here.  I don't have Kontakt so I can't check that but 8 or more audio tracks doesn't crash.

Thanks for all the replies everyone! It's doing my head in. The machine is rock-stable, I had no issues recording Audio or Midi, just at mixdown and export. No special plugs in at that point. Confounding! Thanks again all!

Do you use a Firewire Audio card?

It seem that the old problem with FW drivers from Windows 7 are still around. The result are cracks and lots of issues with latency etc. In Windows 7 we were recommended to switch to the 1394 OHCI (Legacy) drivers. However the Legacy drivers are not around in Windows 8. However, help can be found here

If you use a FW audio interface, try this.

No, I don't use FW just my trusty old Audiophile 24/96. Everything else is working perfectly. Perhaps I need to get in touch with the devs. It's very odd. Other than this 1 issue I have no issues with Win 8 at all. Boooooo! ;0)
