Windows Insider Preview Build 10547
And now it's time for another Preview Build Thread! As always, YMMV! Quite a few UI and app changes to this preview build: http://blogs.windows.com/bloggingwindows/2015/09/18/announcing-windows-10-insider-preview-build-10547/Deeper customization of the start screen, lots of app changes to check out, and the Edge browser seems much more stable and less prone to doing the unexpected. I have Ipswich running well with very good performance. I do a lot of fussing with clips during playback and this build seems to handle it much better on my aging i7/960 box than 10532 or the RTM release. Could just be me though. Anybody else running this build?

This build has been solid, but I noticed my boot times and load times dropped drastically... I issued a ticket on it...

You mean performance is worse, right?

works well for me, but I wasn't happy with the removal of CTL Panel from the startup menu.. I keep having to remove and re-add US2x2 every once in a while.

They're working hard to put everything into the new settings UI, which I'm not a huge fan of. I guess they're trying to get away from the perception that Windows is a nerd's OS. I'm okay with that as long as I can do the things I need to do. With this build I "feel" much snappier performance on my hardware and have been able to drop my venerable MOTU 8pre latency to 128 samples, which I have never been able to do without pops, crackles and other hoody-ha. Windows 10 has the beginnings of a capability to isolate audio work from other DPC interrupt routines by locking it to one core while relegating network, video and other stuff to other processors, which should make DPC troubleshooting a thing of the past. I do not know where they are in that evolution, or even if it's in the current Windows 10 builds, or if it's been made active. I do know that the performance I'm getting out of this build with respect to audio exceeds RTM release on my machine. I can't quantify the gains other than to say that I once got the occasional dropout and audio engine stops even at 256 samples on Windows 10 RTM and previous Windows versions, and now I'm running at 128 without breaking a sweat. I wonder how much lower I can go?

Yes...it was MUCH slower...I finally ended up rolling back...and all my speed came back...

I have the latest build. I haven't noticed any difference in boot time from previous versions. I haven't done much else with it so I can't comment on how it would work with Sonar.

My boot time was SIGNIFICANTLY longer with 10547...as was everything else loading. I run my OS off of SSD's so I can most assuredly tell the difference...

It might have reset how it optimizes the boot process. It usual takes a few days to optimize itself.
