Windows XP - will X1 work OK now?
Hello Thinking of upgrading to X1 essential from 7 Studio , put off 'cos I heard there were problems with Win XP. Have matters improved since the launch? Thanks in advance for responses.

I have Xp 32 bit service pack 3.. Works awesome. in fact I still like it better than Windows 7 64bit. My opinions .. The ram dosen't out weigh the loss of some plugins , nor dose having to buy Jbridge to get some other plugins to wrap... <-- rip off IMO..

Yes no worries. SONAR X1 work in 100% full professional environment. I use it in my work everyday.. The latest updates 1b and hotfix fixed countless of minor bugs and problems. Windows 7 x64, Intel, NVIDIA, SONAR X1 x64 only-

Yep, after some initial problems that turned out to be related to a peripheral I managed to complete a project with only a couple of very minor niggles. Very happy at the moment.

Windows XP - will X1 work OK now? Worked for me on XP 32 bit from day one (less known/reported bugs). As of X1b no complaints.

Running nice and smooth on XP SP3 here. Actually I wasn't on SP3 before but it wouldn't install without it.

I upgraded to X1 from 8.5.3 over the weekend. I was also a bit worried because of reports of problems with XP. But it's been trouble-free so far. I opened some old projects to see if they would play -- and they were fine, so I just continued working on them. So far, so good.

I opened some old projects to see if they would play -- and they were fine, so I just continued working on them. So far, so good. I think it will work just fine on XP too. There some things you should have in mind about differences, XP32/XP64 VS Windows 7 x64- Its time to upgrade to Windows 7 x64... Graphic and GPU. SONAR use new INTEL AVX technology meaning SONAR use direct API calls down to Windows core that working together with graphical GPU. http://software.intel.com/en-us/avx/ Pro channel and SONAR GUI Skylight are a good example that use already today AVX technology in SONAR X1- Already annucment has made with increse of direct API/AVX calls and direct "GPU" calculations in very near future both in SONAR X1 and overall in Windows 7. As an other example today, the new Flashplayer-version use only the GPU on the graphic card to run all flash on Windows 7. This meaning buy a great graphic card today with minimum 1GB RAM and use of Windows 7 x64 are very essential in the near future if you want to have good user experience with SONAR or any other programs. In english..all this new technologys.. AVX technology..core API calls... GPU calculations doesn't work on XP32 or XP64... Hope it helps! Best Regards Freddie
