Windows XP x64 help and suggestions

Has anyone here had satisfactory results using Sonar 7 PE with XP x64, or are currently using XP x64 and happy about it?

Check out my band's song on YouTube!

    Hey, Severed,
I'm using SP7, but on XPx32 only.  It is working 'ok' except for constantly bumping up against the single core/4G ram performance limit.  That's why I upgraded to XP PROx64 & SP8 on my new DAW.  Along with many other posters on this forum, I've had my share of hitches, glitches, & monkey wrenches with this new setup; a lot of it due to my inexperience & the huge learning curve involved, but also it seems, to some of the bundled plug/feature 'bugs' mentioned on the forum.  I've been another longtime behind-the-scenes peruser(aka lurker) & have benefited greatly from the wealth of knowledge posted here.  Even with all the probs, I appreciate the effort from all the people in the CW camp.  I waited some 40 yrs for a relatively affordable desktop DAW/home recording solution & now I've got one, ooh-waa-haa-haa-haa!
    Hope this helped a bit.

I use XP Pro 64bit and it works great for me.  However with Sonar 7 I don't think it will make a great deal of difference as, unless I am mistaken, the full 64bit versions did not come out till Sonar 8.  With Sonar 8 - 64bit it makes a huge difference on large projects.

As of Sonar 8.5, XP 64 is not a supported platform.  For me it works great but I will not know until X1 is on my system whether I will have to upgrade to WIn 7 or not.  There are already some 3rd party plugin upgrades that don't work in XP 64 but will work in Vista 64.   I really don't want to make the change as I run about 5 other special function computers from the one Sonar is on, some being WIN 98 and I know I will have nothing but grief to make the change over to Win 7.

I used XP x64 and Sonar 7.0 it worked fine but ultimately finding drivers was a nightmare and I went XP 32. Some Vista drivers worked - others didn't. Bit-Bridge is a dog so if you do lots of audio you're better off not going 64bit with PE 7.0
