Windows7 & Presonus Firestudio

Hi everyone,
I'am a longtime cakewalk user trying to upgrade to a mobile recording rig.I've got a HP8560w running windows 7 Pro.64bit.I can't get my Presonus firestudio software to open ,I have a open support request with presonus. This laptop was recomended for Sonar on the Cakewalk site although it does not have a TI chip for the FireWire.I was waiting to install my audio editing software till I had the Presonus Universal Control
Working with my Firestudio.Any suggestions or experience with this setup? Thanks

It should run without a problem. I'm running it on Windows 8, 64 bit.
Try this:
Turn off FS.
Uninstall the FS package from the Windows control panel: Programs and Features.
Reboot the computer.
Go to Presonus and get the latest version (I think 1.2)
Reinstall the software with the FS OFF. Don't turn on the FS yet.
Reboot the computer. Wait for the computer to be completely booted up.
Turn on the FS. You should get the Windows "found new hardware" messages.

Let me know what happens.

Thanks Mike,
I did the routine again slightly different result. The first bootup it didn,t do the found new hardware dialog but the Firestudio sync light stayed blue indicating sync.On second reboot it found and installed but sync flashes red. Can,t open universal Control by program or shortcut, only by tool tray icon at screen bottom.I have the latest driver from Presonus and the original installation disc.I tried original disc installation then update and installing just update but no luck.

The fact that the blue light did stay on at one time is good news.
Either there is a conflict or the FS doesn't like the firewire chipset.

Try booting up with the FS off.  Then go to the device manager and disable
the computer's internal audio. Turn off the computer. Turn on the FS first then reboot the computer and see if the blue light stays on.

I solved the problem by bypassing the Jmicron chip in the firewire port.I bought a rain express card to 1394 connection.Shame to waste my firewire port  but as soon as i turned on my firestudio with the rain express card(TI chip)everything worked!I tried to inform Cakewalk about this problem with the HP8560w port because its recommended and certified on their DAW page.Is any one out there?
Anyway I,am up and running.

                                                        Thank you,
