    Mike is, IMO, the greatest prog rock drummer since Bonzo left the building. Is this band still together? Portnoy seems to quit and form a new band every year.

    Looks like everytime Mike starts with a new band he gets more tatoos as well.  If that's the connection, then he has room for maybe one or two more bands on his skin...
